Here is a short clip of The Garza at the Wisco on February 3, 2012. I didn’t think the video would turn out due to lack of light. I guess I was wrong, the sound was really pretty decent. This is a killer new band from Madison, WI. This was their first time playing as a three piece. Can’t wait to see them play again. Next time I’ll get some more video to share as well.

The all DOOM edition of the Lair was a huge success this week. Thanks to all of you that tuned in. I’m glad you all like long songs as much as I do. War Injun was unfortunately unable to make it this week, but they have rescheduled for March 5th.

YOB – January 24, 2012

Here is a video from the second time I was lucky enough to see Yob at Off Minor in Dubuque, IA. If you are from the area and weren’t there you suck. I even offered free rides down from Madison and no one took me up on it. If you are one of those people I hope this video makes you feel sick because you weren’t there. Rant over, now on to the show.

Mike Scheidt opened up the night playing some new songs from his upcoming acoustic album. This was the first of two nights that he was going to be playing them on the tour. I enjoyed them, though I really want to hear what they sound like recorded as he mentioned that there is a lot more going on. I was going to take a video, maybe I should have to share, but I kind of felt funny doing so, especially since the songs weren’t released yet.

Off Minor is a great venue for Yob. In fact it is an excellent venue period. I love small intimate shows. Especially ear shattering loud ones. If you watch my videos, there aren’t very many that the microphone can’t handle. This is an exception. The sound is slightly distorted at parts, but I think you will enjoy it anyways.

I had the extreme pleasure of standing almost on the stage as they played. In fact I had to lean backwards to video the drums. An excellent set from YOB with a wide range of material. I was pretty speechless for a day after the show, and that doesn’t happen to me often. I’ve got plenty of opinions to share about music and shows. Anyways, watch the video and catch them on tour if you can. You won’t be sorry.

One more thing, Fucking YOB!

Finally I have an Aseethe video to post on here. I have a whole set recorded on my video camera, but until I can get it onto my computer this will have to do. This was recorded at Off Minor in Dubuque, IA when they opened for YOB.

Aseethe is one of my favorite bands and every live show is a different experience. Loud, intense, heavy and droning, I’m glad that I finally have the opportunity to share some of the live experience with you. There are two videos here, I wanted to give you a taste of both the mellow noise driven pieces and the sludgier aspects of the band. I hope you enjoy it and be sure to catch them when they play in your area.
