I saw Waterstreet at the Frequency in Madison at one of their Rock N Rail nights. It was a very eclectic mix of bands that night and Waterstreet was the first one that fit in with what I like to listen to.
Waterstreet is from Chicago, IL. They are a pretty basic rock band with good riffs and songs. The most impressive thing for me was the harmony in the vocals. 3 of the 4 band members sang. They are a bit poppy for my taste but I am sure that some of you will dig them.
They were high energy and a good time to watch. No gimmicks, just a solid rock show. They sounded pretty tight and the harmony in the vocals came out very well. The Frequency was a good size club for them, though I would be interested to see them on a larger stage to see if they have a bigger stage presence.
I’m glad I got to check them out now. I would like to give them sometime to mature their sound some more and then check them out again in the future. They are a solid young band that I think will evolve into a crowd pleaser.
